Birthday hats are really simple to make. All you need is some cardstock, a pair of scissors and some tape. Cut out a circle roughly 9 inches in diameter, a large dinner plate can be used as a template. Find the circle's center and draw a line from the center to the edge. Use a pair of scissors to cut along that line. Form a cone out of the circle, place it on your child’s head and use a piece of tape of secure it in place. There you have it! You can make customized hats for everyone present at the party if you cut out several circles of paper in advance.
All you need is some colored paper, an elastic band, and scissors. Look for mask templates online, and teach your kid to cut the colored paper in the shape of an eye mask and make holes for the eyes, nose, and mouth. Now attach the elastic band on opposite sides of the mask. Your kid’s mask is ready!
If the birthday party is in the evening, this craft idea could add to the party's vibe. Get some empty jars or bottles, and let your kid glue stickers or paint or draw on them as they wish. Now put battery-operated fairy lights inside the jars, and switch them on. If you make multiple, you can place them all over the room for the ambiance. Switch off the lights just before the cake is cut and switch these fairy lights on, making the room really warm.
