We are constantly in awe of how children's minds work. Their creative and logical thinking can sometimes make them seem more intuitive than adults.

One way to witness the creativity channeling through your children's brains is Rebus Puzzles.

Rebus puzzles are brain teasers that use pictures, words, alphabets, or numbers to create a story. Depending on their difficulty level, these rebus puzzles can be used as brain stimulators. They are used by kindergarteners, adolescent children, and even adults.

On Day 8 of the 25 days of learning series, here are 12 rebus puzzles. Download them for FREE here.

One must decipher the clues and use logic to figure out the answers to solve a rebus puzzle. It could be a fun exercise for children, but it's not just a puzzle for children in their free time; rebus puzzles have multiple benefits.

Benefits of rebus puzzles for children

  • Like any other puzzle, children need to decode pictorial clues and follow them to make a new word or phrase. This can help them build their critical thinking and reasoning skills.
  • There are many steps to solving a rebus puzzle--first, identify and name the pictures. They then might need to place the first clue in context. Then string all this information together, solving the puzzle. All of these steps enhance vocabulary skills.
  • Rebus puzzles can also increase a child's visual understanding skills and creativity. These puzzles require the child to use their imagination and think outside the box to solve.
  • Rebus puzzles can help boost your child's memory and overall cognitive development.1
