Monsters don't always have to be big and scary! Well, these paper bag puppet monsters definitely aren't!
Made from a few household materials, this DIY is simple and fun.
What kids learn from this activity: apart from upcycling paper bags, kids learn about how different shapes, when combined, can look like recognizable objects. Like how a few triangles and rectangles, when combined, come together and create a house or a barn. Similarly, some shapes can make faces, even monster ones.
On Halloween, these puppets will come in handy as decorations around the house; they can even be used as door markers or makeshift bags to go trick or treating.
What you need:
Step-by-step process to DIY paper bag monster puppets
Paint the paper lunch bag in any color of your choice
Let it dry and flatten it
Cut out different shapes from colored cardstock paper, like triangles for teeth, circles for eyes, rectangles for tongues, and semi-circles for ears
You can decorate the monster's body in fun patterns, different-shaped scraps, glitter, or even ribbons
Make multiple monster puppets
There you go! You made not-so-scary-looking paper bag monster puppets.
Get creative with it; give your monster only one eye, or three, multiple teeth, whatever you think a monster looks like. Always remember to have fun making these cute monster puppets from paper bags.
