You will need:

  • Printable Template
  • Drinking straws
  • Pipettes (or straws with a larger diameter than the above-mentioned straws)
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • Markers/crayons/paint

Steps to follow to make a paper straw rocket:

  • Print out the paper rocket printable
  • Color each rocket using paint or crayons.
  • Cut out each rocket along the outer edge of the design. (If using a plastic pipette, cut the bottom part and attach it to the back of the rocket with tape. If using paper straws, select a wider straw and cut it to fit the length of the rocket. Tape one end of the straw completely sealed and attach it to the back of the rocket with tape.)
  • Slip the pipette or straw onto a thin straw to get to the launch position.
  • Blow a big puff of air through the thin straw.

Watch the rocket lift off into the air! The harder you blow, the higher these paper rockets will fly.

Make as many paper straw rockets as you want and see how far your rockets can launch!
